Alumni Parents of the class of 2022 - Thank You Letter

 

A thank you letter was drafted by Matt Birck '95 and signed by the Alumni Parents of the class of 2022.

 

Lancer Alumni,

The class of 2022 has now joined our ranks as alumni of La Salle High School. As proud alums ourselves, it is with deep pride that our sons are included in this group of young men. In the last generation, La Salle has stayed true to its roots of faith, service, and excellence and as we reflect upon the gifts they have benefitted from during their time at La Salle High School, we realize it is you who have given them so much opportunity. Thank you. It is no secret that the Lancers of today enjoy far greater resources than we had during our time at La Salle, and for that we are grateful.  Thank you.  We thank you for the De La Salle Memorial Center, and the opportunity to challenge themselves physically in a safe, modern environment.  We thank you for the chapel and the opportunity to find peace and spiritual identity in a dedicated space.  We thank you for the money to upgrade the school and provide air conditioning for a more modern and beneficial learning experience.  And we thank you for the science wing addition, which now holds the Alumni Heritage Room which they will soon too get to enjoy.  For all of your hard work, generosity, time and support to make La Salle the premier school for young men, thank you.

Our sons in the class of 2022 will strengthen the Lancer legacy for future generations.  And as they walk across the stage and become the newest Lancer Alumni, we have a simple favor to ask.  They will look to us, as alumni, for ways to give back. These young men will look to us in how to honor their legacy.  These young men of La Salle will be the ones to represent the school on our behalf when we no longer can.  Please show them how Lancers unite. Help us show them how the generosity of the past generations can be leveraged for the future.  Please embrace them and guide them, just as we have done while they were at La Salle. 

We are proud of our sons and their accomplishments while at La Salle High School, and we hope that you are too.  Thank you for your commitment to them and to preserving the legacy of the Lasallian Tradition.
